Congrats on your good luck!
I'm lucky if I find a copper penny locally at the ball fields. One day, I hit it big and actually found a (modern) quarter. Appreciate your advice. It makes perfect sense. Usually, I search around the batter, to first base and the fence, from third and the fence to home plate. Will have to give the outfield a try. HH! -Tom |

My so called grid pattern is for baseball fields is : 1 . Detect the OUTFIELD first ( About twenty feet out from where the dirt ends and the grassy outfield begins . Because that is basically where the action is on catching and throughing the ball and HOPEFULLY that outfielder looses his jewlery when throughing the ball back !!!
2 . All bases I go around in a circle about 10 feet out from cente of the plate . 3. Be sure to detect on BOTH sides of the back stop !!! OH !! and detect around the window at the consession stand !!! AND ABOVE ALL !!! TAKE YOUR TIME!!! This hobby aint a race!!! This is just a suggestion for all you begginers !!! PATIENCE is the key !! I went back yesterday to the same ball field and scored another .83 cents and OF ALL THINGS on a baseball field An OLD skelliton key about 7" down !!! HAPPY HUNTING !!! KENNETH |

Hi Kenneth,
I wish I could help you out. My heart goes out to you. My other half tragically lost her teenage son back in January. We have good days and bad days, and will be for a long time. We'll keep you in our prayers. Thanks again for the tips. Will go back to the ballfields and try the outfields. There is a lot of wisdom in what you said. Not only go slow, but with my DFX, I go for "rattier" sounds than textbook. You wouldn't belive how many coins I've found that came from digging marginal signals. Buried stuff isn't in an ideal environment. It's the real world, and requires lots of patience and diligence. HH! -Tom |
