Default land dig turns into a swish

From the land of the Bluenose...was an atypical day with dark rain clouds blocking the sun and depositing water with a torrential vengeance! Nevertheless I picked Johhny White Pail up in Goquickski and we headed to Robin's for a morning brew driving by Tim's which was prety backed up with the pre 10 o'clock caffine addict crowd.

Heading down the 101 we couldn't help but notice how wet it was out but we were game and met up with Makinholes who joined us and grabbed the back seat chattering up a storm to revial the one outside. He had brought with him his finds from this year which were very impressive ranging from a George 11 copper to Vickie silver.

We hit the Brooklyn area which was partially obscured by the rain and did a playing field with Johnny and I getting a bath upon exiting the car. Of course Makinholes was the smart one having rain gear and looking a lot like a Chikita banana in his effervescent yellow paraphernalla. This part of the dig yielded a lot of newer clad and not much else so we moved on to a community rec center that gave up the same save for a large penny to Myles who informed us that he has been hammering the center for the past two weeks.

We moved on from this spot as a population of rug rats arrived for a birthday party at the hall. Mind you the mother's who dropped off these mini people all had a smile on their faces as they drove away. Makinholes at this time suggested we hit as local park so off we went via Tim's so that we could grab a brew and warm up. We did make our prescence known as depicted by the mud we left in the seats.....sorry about that folks!

After being refreshed we hit the park which looked more like an outdoor swimming pool with the three of us wading around with glad garbage bags over our machines to keep them dry. Makinholes was on a roll and quickly eyeballed a cell phone then dug a nice silver ring and a score of clad as Johhhy was treading water and digging up his clad.

Anyway the only other thing of note was a nice badge dug up by Makinholes and the two large pennies (1907 and 1908) that I scooped up. Was time to go as these two soggy bouys had to get home for "domestic appointments." Myles took a few photos and we parted ways. Half way home I remembered that I had my old Seahunter in the trunk to give to Myles who can work wonders with electronical items. Oh well next time. Gassed up the car in the hope that Marie will not fillet me when she sees all the mud in the car. Speaking of mud Johnny and I figured how to lose ten ugly pounds after this dig....take a bath!

Hopefully Makinholes will post a few photos and his totals for the day. I ended up with the two large pennies, 41 coins @ $4.41, musket ball and a toasty military buttons.
