Default Sorry if I offend anyone...

...but I'm having some difficulty believing what I see on some other boards... I honestly believe we have decent, honest members here, but in other places (coughTreasureNetcough) I'm having a bit more trouble...

I personally work my a$$ off finding what little I do find... and we have a solid bunch of folks here, and I want to keep it that way...

If you're coming here to show off and dupe people, go do it somewhere else.

That is all.

I have wondered the same thing sometimes. But no matter what site you go to you will get some strange people, trying to feel good about themselves no matter what they have to do. Knowing that Greg and Pappy seem like such open, honest people, I would feel like a fool lying about what I had found.

Problem's not with anyone here... it's just the principle... what's the point? I know I should just ignore it, but I can't. I work too hard to find what I find to have someone throwing crap on their scanner and saying they found all this, what is it - some old half dollar... bah.

I'm stirrin' it up good over there - maybe I'll get banned so I don't have to worry about it any more.

Default Why ?

Why should anyone tell tall tales about what they find? I love this forum !! Even though I cant post pictures as I am on WEBTV I enjoy this forum and detecting so much that I think its nice to tell about the finds I make and where /how I found them !! When ya get bummed out because of the lack of good finds ! Its time to do RESEARCH on new places to hunt !!! They are out there!!!! HAPPY HUNTING !!! KENNETH

Default takes all kinds for sure

From the land of the Bluenose.....think that a lot of the times some folks get a tad upset with other folks finds. I think it that boils down to where you reside. Here 1800 coins are fairly common due to the age of the area but go west and it's a big thing to break into the 1800's. On the same token...pardon the pun what we find here in Nova Scotia that we consider old is not really considered that way say in the ...United Kingdom where hammered coins are regularly found.....relevence..it's only a hobby!

One area that does seem to cause a bit of problem which I have had a tad of grief over is in regionalization, cultural and how it affects the preception of humor as some folks take it to heart or out of the context and spirit that it is said. Life is too short and precious to get upset at things like that ....example!

A Nova Scotian the other day found a gold soveriegn and was so happy that he took it to a jeweler and had it bronzed!

Life is a beach at least till the tide comes in!

Portrait, I know what you mean about that other forum. I was there for only a short time and had to leave. I saw the same things going on and it sickend me to see the treatment others were getting by a few of the regulars there. Sure glad I found this forum. Great group of people here. I have never felt like I didn't belong here, always friendly, and willing to help someone with questions and answers. Pappy, Greg, and the rest of ya'll,
