Rob , the 1236x2 retails new for $399 and the Minelab Advantage retails new for $340.They are very stable and excellent detectors but non metered.Ive found my oldest coin a King George copper with the 1236x2 and the best target separation detector i've ever used is the Minelab Advantage and it goes deep very deep. It's just my opinion Rob and i have them both and will keep both for a long time. But the Ace 250 is one fine machine from all reports.Good Luck.HH Bill

Rob..just keep going to that place, you've gotten the trash and the good stuff is sure to follow. I dig all my tones and after a few pull tabs I will get something worth the effort. Dont give up.

Default OLD sidewalks !!!!

Hey Rob !! Heres another location ya might wanna try ! I am sure every town has them is OLD crumbling sidewalks !!! I was detecting yesterday and a fellow detectorist came along and we talked about places in my town to detect ad he said his favorite place to detect is along OLD crumbling sidewalks I guess he should know because he has been detecting for 20 years!!! I used my 3X6" Blue Max coil and went slow along just such a sidewalk and found a 1917D Lincoln penny and a 1944 Standing Liberty Half dollar !!!Ya gotta use a SMALL coil because there is ALOT of modern trash !!! The moral of this story is " use the smallest coil ya got and PATIENTLY work along those OLD side walks !!! I AM SURE you too will find some goodies there !!! GOOD LUCK Rob !! HAPPY HUNTING ! KENNETH

Default Discouraged ??? NOT !!!!!

Hey Rob ! I just got back from detecting and after 3 hours this morning , using my Blue Max 3X6 ' coil and covering about 100' X 20' area of this OLD sidewalk area that has resently been torn out. I came home with a 1907D Barber dime !! and $ 2.85 in clad !!! SOooo !!! If ya take your time and use your smallest coil in trashy areas and seek out the OLDER areas!!!! I think ya can come home happy !!! I know it gets discouraging when ya spend hours detecting and dont find much but ! Those days DO come with the territory and as you use your detector more, It will become second nature to finding the GOODIES !!! Dont get me wrong!! I have ALOT of those" DONT FIND NOTHIN" DAYS TOO !!! Hang in there !! HAPPY HUNTING !! Kenneth
