Default Civil War Heroes

I believe it was Greg that told me a while back that I could prolly make a good living doing portraits of Civil War generals, heroes, and scenes in general... seeing that I'm not as up on my CW history as most of you, if anyone could please provide me names of some of the more popular CW people and or battles/things-I-could-draw, I would greatly appreciate it...

Update: Well, I've been looking at photos online for the past few hours, and I've decided that I'm going to start doing a series of all of the CW generals and soldiers that I can find, and just keep adding to them as I go...

Hi,
Lincoln would be a good seller too.

I would say to get it rolling try to sell them as reasonablely priced as you can. Your going to get request for custom drawings too.

Also draw up a few to take to Civil War re-enactments in your area.

Make a banner add and advertise on as many niche websites as you can afford.

Once the word gets around, you could stand to make a bundle

Default Some more ideas for you...

Hi P.A.!

Man, you've got an awesome talent!
You can make a damned good living doing your artwork.... I like the idea of doing CW stuff: Here's an idea for you: Download or get pictures of as many historical pCW personalities (Generals, people at famous spots, etc.) and events as possible.
You could offer to draw the same scenes, putting the person who commissioned the drawing into it next to their favorite generals, etc.
Same thing would work for WWI, WWII, etc. aficionadoes.
Could do the same thing with bands: Maybe a party or concert scene with the fan next to Jerry Garcia, or the Beatles....
Just ideas...
By getting your name out there, putting what you do on a website, you can develope a doggone good following.

HH! -Tom

Here are a few photos that I might start with... there are tons of generals, most of whom I've never heard of but I'm sure are very important, but these will get me started...

so, was Sherman as much of a character as he looks like he was? he looks, as we in Texas say "rode hard and put up wet..."

Default A few Names of American history

i study Civil war books often as a hobby, even though i am a britt. I think a special mention should be given to Robert E Lee, Gen Longstreet ,and J.E.B. Stewart, aswell as Col John Singleton Mosby(The Grey ghost). Plenty more where these came from.
