Default If You Dont Dig It You Will Never Know !

This reminds me of the time when i was in florida on vacation with my parents back in 1972.I was 12 and had my 1st detector (bounty hunter).I was detecting a beach, not having much luck, when i got a good signal.About this time my broyher came over and asked if i wanted to go swim.It was hot and as i wasent havin much luck i said sure.Well there was a kid about my age that had been watching me and i told him he could dig that one and i whent swimming.Later as i was running back to the car i passed this kid and he said"BOY YOU SHOULD HAVE KEPT DIGGIN ! Well i paid it no mind and so ill never know what it was i had almost found. To this day i kick myself when i think of it.

That is a lesson well learned. Bet you don't do that again.

I do pass sometimes because of the trash on the beach. Get tired of digging every time and getting so many pull tabs.
So I'm sure that I do miss items.

But, on the otherhand, I have learned to scan over places where others have dug on the beach.
I pull alot of change from where others have missed. They might get one coin and move on. Not realizing many times people on the beach will drop more than one coins. They might lose a pocketfull at one time.

One time I picked up over a dozen coins. It was like they had a hole in their pocket. After getting all the coins, I could see where it started from the steps at the seawall, moved right and went straight to the water.
Kind of interesting seeing a pattern.
This all started by scanning over a hole where someone else had missed.

Anyway, lots to be said for scanning over places where others have dug.

This story reminds me of the 20..00 dollar bill I passed up !!! A medal detecting buddy of mine is $20.00 richer because I was detecting along and there was a Marloburo crumpled up cigarett pack on the ground that I detected and went right over it thinking it was just trash WHICH I should have picked up anyway, but didnt !! Anyway, my buddy picked it up and inside the pack was a $20.00 bill !!!! SO!! from then on I pick up the trash as I go along !!!! BUT !!Thats right !!! IF YA DONT DIG !!!
