In defense of the Rattlesnake...
they only bite when threatend and do let a person know when they are ready to strike.
What kind of detecting do you do Ron Hall? You want to go relic hunting? Putnam Co here.

Been trying to line up a little relic hunting myself. I have semi-permission to hunt Murder Hollow near East Lynn, WV. Private property tied up in court right now. Other property owner said OK, just ignore the no trespassing signs all along the highway. My gg grandpa was in the 14th KY Infantry Volunteers and they pulled the ambush in that hollow. Do Google search on Murder Hollow and the first link will tell you about it. It's so hot here the snakes are traveling to 12 Pole Creek at night thru my yard and you have to walk on their backs to get out. When it cools down a tad anywhere is good with me. Stay cool and watch those critters that crawl.
