Default What was your best find ever.

I would like to start a thread or catagory where members can tell us about their best find either sentimental or value wise. A lot of people have been detecting for tons of years and I am just curious. It wouldn't even have to have pictures but that would be nice. With so many members I bet there have been some truly wonderful finds. I would like to read about them
What do you think about the idea?

Great Idea Boobie!

I'll start, even though mine is kind of pathetic next to most members here. Anyways, here goes.

My best find was from a park in the next town over. It was my first real hunt with my Fisher 1265 m-scope.
I started hunting around this large old tree and got a really weak signal(this was also my first hunt with headphones on ) Even though I was normally leaving the weak signals alone, I decided to dig this one.

Out of the ground popped a 1907 Barber dime. It was folded in half and in really poor condition, but it was still silver!

Thanks
The Madman

Glad you like the idea so here is my best find.

My cousin got married and his wife lost her wedding ring in her garden in 1990. He is a doctor and got her a $15,000.00 ring. When she lost it he was at a medical convention, so she called me right away and I got to the farm the same day. The garden was about 30 yards square. After a while looking she went into the house very upset. It took about another half hour but I found it. I took it into the house where she was crying. I comforted her and held her hand. I had the ring in my hand and she started screaming and jumping up and down with joy and disbelief. It was about a year later that she told him and she figured that he would be mad but he wasn't. He was just glad that I found it. That was my best find for obvious reasons. Now she only wears it when they go out to a formal affair. ANd I was to stupid to take a picture of it.

Default finds

From the land of the Bluenose..well the most exspensive was a $6500 diamond ring , oldest 203BC and the weirdest...a gold tooth in bridge work.

Lots of stories over 31 years. neat idea for a thread Bobbie!

WOW 203BC, How would you know the date. Was it stamped on it or what. In my widest dreams I can't imagine finding something like that. Do you have a picture of it? If you don't mind what does it look like and where did you find it?

Dahlonega coin = coin made at the little known Dahlonega mint. When gold was found in the southern states, a mint location was set up in GA to help save money by not having to move heavy gold such a long distance.
