Question about old Grist Mill's

Here in my town along the Caney River once stood a grist mill that operated in the 1890s But the problem is the weeds are taller than I am around an old house and what is left of the grist mill that stands now on private property and the owner told me NO detecting is gonna be done here !!!!! SO .... I will bet there is all kinds of goodies to be found there BUT , I will never know !!! HAPPY HUNTING !!! KENNETH

..of those folks would have bartered or traded for the mills' service. it was a common practice to give the mill operator a percentage of the grounded corn/wheat etc as payment.

As a matter of fact Rusty this stream run's into Turkey Creek. I'm going to try and post pictures of the "now" water fall from the mill. Also the chimmney is roughly 30' tall and made of rock's. Thank's again and HH.

That is a nice place. I like the water, if u don't find anything you can catch your supper. We don't have anything like that around here in Beaver County.
