Default The Eagle has landed...hmmm

WEll, I went and picked up the White's Eagle Pro.....it's funny how your memory plays tricks on you.

I thought the machine was a spectrum and was black. It's neither. It's an Eagle Pro with 4 inch, 8 inch, and 10 inch coils...and it's a blue one. I stuck the batteries from my 6000 in it, and it looks as though it works fine. I wasn't really worried about that since the guy I got it from takes care of his stuff pretty well....but it's nice to be able to confirm that it does work.

Now all I have to do is get out into the field with it and see if I can find anything. For you guys who have owned and operated this model...are there any books that I just can't live without? I reallize I'm about 15 years late getting into the whole touch pad/LCD thing...but hey, better late than never. Hopefully I won't be an old man before I become competent with this machine.

Hey Boobie.....This one's got a lighted touch pad....though it's a bit dim to be of much use...but I went outside and balanced the machine and got some "all over the map" signals. The area I was in has been hevily hunted with my 600DI Pro...so I didn't expect to find anything...and that really wasn't the intention. I wanted to see if the VDI display worked.

Seems as though it's not going to be vastly different from the old 6000DI...at least not using and interpreting the VDI. Where I imagine it's a bit trickier is if you get to "teaching" the detector and creating custome programs for it.

Hi Sue.......Thanks. I am hopeful that 1)I'll gain some depth using the larger coil and thus make all of my old haunts productive again...even if I have to dig deeper, and that 2) the 10 inch coil that came with this Eagle is also compatible for use with my 6000. Both the 8 inch coil on my 6000 and these 3 coils with the Eagle...have the silver grey cable. Earlier ones had a white cable. One of these days I'll photograph some of my better finds made with the 6000 DI Pro.
