Default Albany, Ga.

Was wondering if anyone in the group was from, or lives near Albany, Ga?
I found out today that if I get promoted to E-8 in December I will probably get orders to Albany some time after I return from Iraq in Feb.-March timeframe... Also any information on this area would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Reporting live from Iraq, The Gunny

Hey, Gunny. Semper Fi. I live about 1 1/2 from Albany. Nice area. Soft rolling country. Lots of pecan groves. Light winters, meaning a small chance of snow, gets down to the 20's once in a while. Lots of heat with bugs, like large roachs, gnats, skitters. Housing isn't to high. No beer sales on Sunday. Fairly good size town with a Super Wal-Mart. Got State taxes.
Don't know about the fishing. Hope you make it back soon. Our state camels come with long ears (G). Boomer (ex grunt)

Default Thanks for the info:

Rhubard, Boomer
Thanks for the information. I should know for sure in December if they are gonna move me or not. If I get promoted to (E8) I will be moved, if I don't get promoted I will stay at Cherry Point for about a year and retire with 20 years in. I look forward in doing some Mding if I do come that way!!

Hey Gunny,
Ilive about an hour and a half away in Warner Robins. I real new to this hobby but would like to have a someone to join up with on some hunts. The weather is usually nice enough year round to hunt. and fishing is usually good. I got started in this hobby because my son likes to hunt for Indian artifacts and I had always wanted to do something like this. Give me a ring when and if you move and get settled in .

Happy trails and good hunting.

Default Hi Gunny...

I live in NW GA but I was born and raised in Moultrie 37 miles down the road from you. I get down there every couple of months to check on mom and dad. I have some places in Moultrie that we might hunt. I'll try and remember to give you a call next time. If you want you can email me your cell phone and i'll save and give you a call. We will be down there the weekend of the 17th but it will be a Christmas visit and I don't know how much time I will have but i'll try...if you don't mind hanging out with an old fart for a few hours...laff.

Default Laff

Iam not actually in Ga. right now, Iam currently deployed in Iraq. I may be moving to that area sometime in March when I get back from here. I will know for sure by the end of December. If I do move down there, I would love to get together and do some hunting....
