Default Oct was a great dance...time to pay the piper

I've really enjoyed my return to this hobby, and hope that my enthusiasm and posting every stinkin' silver dime I found hasn't taken you all to wit's end. I'll be a little less visible in the future, for how long....as long as I can stand, I guess.

Work demands that I...well, that I work. October was a blast....and I added 66 silver coins to my collection, and 41 of those were ones I dug. The remainder was eBay purchases using clad I dug.

I hope you all are able to find enough cool stuff to make reading the forum interesting while I'm "down" and eating sawdust and lacquer fumes. I'll be living vicariously through you all where my detecting is concerned until I get some stuff caught up around here.....so keep finding and posting cool stuff for me to look at.

Might be a good time to send my machine in for service, since I find it a huge distraction from what I *should* be doing. I really think I'm missing deeper coins....and if I wasn't, October might have been even better, not that I'm complaining, mind you. My coin box is much heavier and fuller than it's been in a long time. I sold some finds a few years ago, and there wasn't all that much in there.

I'll still be talking with some local property owners about getting permision to hunt some prime spots I've spotted when my act is "together" and i'm able to hit it again, but will probably not get to detect for awhile.

Hi Boobie......I just need to prioritize a little better. I have been having so much fun with this again. Makes me wonder how I ever got away from it.

I just agreed to buy a newer 6000....an ergonomically correct one, so I won't miss my machine nearly as bad while it's away. It also has a little larger coil. The learning curve should be next to nothing for me since in terms of operation....it's exactly like mine.

Now to find a home for that Eagle......reckon I'll hit the "Bay" with it. It's nice...but not my cup of tea. I'm just an old fart I guess.

Wyatt I sure hope you don't over pay the piper! But we all have work that has to be done! Sure is great hearing of all the silver coins you found! Especially if you found all that in one month! I have only found a few in the past year (You have to be digging where they are at!) Hopefully I will get me a few older places to hunt soon! Most of the places I have been hunting are hunted to death! But have turned up a few wheats.

Get that machine going and hope to see more finds as soon as you can!

I won't be absent from the hobby for as long as last time...but I have a tendency to overdo everything. I'll pour myself into my work for awhile, and then maybe I can restrain myself and just hunt on weekends. This is a very addictive hobby though.

Apparently this little town has not been hit all that hard, especially when a public schoolyard gives up 17 pieces of silver. The whole town seems to be like that, and the worst yard I've done gave up 2 pieces of silver.

Good luck in your endeavors. I hope you find some great places to hunt.

I know what ya mean about addictive! When I see my friends and family they are like! What ya find!!! They are all talking about getting them a detector!

I'm still digging but also have had to slow down a bit! Catch up on some much needed work! Holidays! Kids birthdays! You name it! Just finding clad and a few whatits nothing much to speak of! But having fun! And that is the whole point of this hobby to me personally!

You have a good one!
