Default Crappie Fishing Yesterday

Well, it was another day for fishing the Hatchie River. No rain has taken me back to fishing again! Nothing special but they taste great! I've never fished this River before this year and it's only my 6th or 7th trip....the 1st 3 or 4 times were for Bluegill.
The scan shows the take of the day. Threw back around 6 smaller Crappie and 6 Bluegill. Went digging for a couple hour at a field that had finally been picked of the Soybeans. Found several junk brass and lead items. Only keeper was a brass leather Rivet (Haversack).

We Need Rain Here In Tennessee!
Thanks For Looking, Roger

Good mess! Did you scull? Folks around here don't know how to. Most use 220 H.P. outboards to sneak up their fish.

Ahh great minds think alike..

Default Nice Rainbows!

No sculling on this river as the current is too swift. I use a trolling motor to get close then let the current drift me in. I either tie off or hold on to a limb!
Nice Mess of Rainbows Bob. Your fish are much bigger! We don't have Trout around these parts!

Keep on keeping on, Roger

Default We're even

We don't have crappie up here, or very few.. Most of the time I'm kind of a catch what I'm gonna eat and release the rest kinda guy but this late in the season I like to catch some and release them into the freezer for some tasty smoked trout come Christmas time..
Size doesn't matter, it's the fact ya went and did it.... Kind of like a day detecting, it's doing it, not the kill...Bob

Default Sculling

Hey Boobie,
My definition doen't match the one in the dictionary. My definition is when you take the boat paddle and make figure 8 motions to slowly and quietly move your boat from one spot to another.
I haven't used this method in years....the trolling motor works a lot better with less effort on my part .

Until Next, Roger
