Default Deer By My Pond

I always through my fish skeletons down at my pond for the turtles, Racoons, etc. to have a free meal. I headed down there in the truck yesterday evening and saw three Deer (Doe with her 2 young that are about 3/4 grown) right where I was going. I stopped, back up all the way to the house, got my camera and ran down to the barn. I got off three shots (pictures) that is. I'm not a hunter of game anymore even though Muzzle Loader Season was open. I'd rather take pictures and see them again.

Thought I'd share this poor picture with you all (the deer were about 70 yard away). Thanks For Looking, Roger

Beautiful pic Roger. My wife and I were just talking, the other day, about checking out Ten. as our next destination (moving) in a few years. After seeing your pic I realize how much I miss decidious trees. To many pines here, as the paper company has decimated all the old hard woods, and no good color to see in the fall from pines.

Yup, the camera is my "weapon" of choice now too. Looks like a great place to be for sure.

Well I hope you won't bash me to bad, but by would Mama taste good in the crock pot!!!! In all honesty I respect those that don't want to hunt, but these animals were placed here for our consumption. Around these parts we have a huge, and I mean huge problem with to many deer. They are everywhere and people are dying all the time from driving into them. They keep making the hunting season longer but fewer folks have the time to hunt or like you have lost the desire. I myself would rather see a deer fall from a well placed bullet then to suffer after getting hit by a car, and possibly injure somebody else, or even starve to death. I am not a trophy hunter. The guys that will kill a large buck, cut the head off and leave the rest to rott, well they deserve to be on the other end of that bullet. I consume everything I kill and nothing is wasted. There is no excuse to leave game on the ground. Both VA and NC have venison for the hungry where they will take and deer that is killed and will butcher it up and give it to les fortunate folks. I am taking my boy tomorrow evening to let him kill his first deer and I can't wait. Y'all take care.
