Default fun thing Questions you were asked while detecting

From the land of the Bluenose.....saw this on the California Forum and thought it would be a hoot. 10 questions that you have been asked while detecting. Here's a few of mine. Enjoy!
From the land of the Bluenose....one that comes to mind when doing a swish (water dig) is
Hey mister what you doing?

Looking for leeches I replied. Of course one time a kid ran out of the water like a scalded cat and told his mom..........man did I get dirty looks.

Once at the Dingle which is a hot spot here for land digs, I was detecting when a bus load of Japanese tourists entered the park and began snapping photos of me. Of course I was wearing a necklace with over a 100 rings on it and I was extremely hung over. One fellow appraoched me and asked what I was looking for and commented on my rings. I (again feel bad about it in retrospect) replied I was looking for land mines and these where from the fingers of folks that had been blown up. Not one of my finest hours for sure.

I had received permission to hunt a 250 yr old home with a lots of goodies and felt like the kid in the candy store and everything was going great until the elderly housemaid noticed me digging and walked over to see a 3" wide hole about 6" deep and the turf plug flapped over and all the loose dirt nicely laid on a cloth as i take pride in my retrieval methods. Well the lady angrily said " Do they know you dig holes to get that stuff out of the ground and besides that you bother the squirrels and they don't eat the nuts i put out when your here " .Well she made such a stink that the homeowner said sorry but she's been with us for 40yrs and perhaps it would be better if you didn't hunt anymore.Permission Denied Life goes on..

Default That thing finds snakes???

Was at a friends house once looking for a lost ring somebody had lost.I found it in the ground;tangled up in some roots from a bush. There were 4 little kids gathered around me-I was having trouble extracting the ring from the roots, and I said:"come on, ya snake, get outta there." One of the children said"That thing finds snakes?"WOW;COOL!!!"
