Whent out for the first time this year yesterday.I was hoping to search a beach site but arived to find the place closed and gated off,so i'm going to make some calls monday.I could see that the water is very low and stood drooling from afar for awile. So i whent to a spot were there is a possibility of finding some bank robbery loot, and stopped to talk to an older couple to see if i could have a look. They were very nice and told me that they often find indian artifacts in and around there yard, wich is bordered by a plowed field. They also told me it was the site of an old ferry and they had found a spanish peice of 8 while walking the field. So i serched but dident find anything. When i got home i did a search on the internet and found that this was the site of wattles ferry, the termination of the catskill turnpike. Also there is an island in the river were the locals held most of the town celibrations( 4th of july, picnics etc) and also horse racing. It was a wonderful warm day but today winter is back and all i can do for now is wait and reserch some more but its looking like a very promising spot.HH to all...Terry
