Hi Will,

Not sure about the capabilities of the X- Terra 30 but the X -Terra 50 is real nice. The adjustable GB on the 50 is a benefit in differing ground conditions especially when the smaller coils come out. The recovery speed is very quick and depth in disc and all metal is very very good. Tone ID is very easy to discern and works in disc and AM mode. The X Terra 50 is very sensitive to small targets with 7.5 frequency and reports are the 30 is also.I feel they will both be excellent trash hunting detectors and the X Terra 50 should be more versatile with manual GB. Not many mention the Pinpoint mode but i like it very much, the inner circle encloses and when it fills in your directly over the target dead center with great lock on. It's very light and easy on batteries. The only real negatives in my opinion are the lack of accessory coils and they are not suited for shorter folks yet as the shortest overall length is 48" vs 38" for many detectors, they also need better coil bushings as the coil is floppy. Just my observations with about a month experience on the X Terra 50

Smile X-terra 30

Got my new X-TERRA yesterday, but with all that i had to get done yesterday, i did not get to but tinker with my new machine, and of course read the manual, and reread it again.
it rained today ("all day") so still did not get to play with my new machine. i hope tomorrow will be a dry day(no rain). i didn't want my new machine to collect dust for lack of use. i will do my best to do a report on how i like my new "minelab x-terra 30" after i have used it for a week or so.
