I feel the same way kinda about the DFX vs XLT the XLT is a well thought out machine with the chance to get all the bugs out, but in all fairness I have only hunted with the dfx on 2 occassions. So I really did get the chance to tweak and play with it. I bet by the time you read all this advise you will be so confused lol I honstly feel like someone has to pick a detector take the time learn it and listen to what the machine is telling you and you will find the goodies. I know for the longest time I thought about my MXT as wanna be XLT with out the pro options. I know better now. I really really really love my MXT. I will keep this detector for a long time

have you tryed the XP range at all ,they do a good detector, i myself use a ADX200,it i have not found many detectors that will match it on the field ..i did use whites for years and have found some very nice finds with them in the past ,but since i have had the 200 my finds rate has gone right up and there ent a detector in my eye's that will match it in a very trashy area

If you have that kind of budget it really comes down to 2 detectors (Mindlab Explorer II or the Whites DFX).
It's really hard to say which detector is better, my wife uses the DFX and I use the Explorer II. I usually find more than my wife because I swing really slow and overlap my swings. The reason I went with the Explorer II is the operating frequencies, the DFX operates at 3kHz to 15kHz where the Explorer operates at 1.5kHz to 100kHz giving much better discrimination. I dig alot less targets with the Explorer than the DFX. It really comes down to how you use the machines, they are both excellent choices but I personally perfer the Explorer II for the versatility and advanced features that other detectors do not have. |

I've stayed with two Fishers - lifetime warranty (orig owner). My White and Garrett go in for $50+ tuneups too often. Minelabs can be termpermental.
When you think about the difference of 2 yrs vs. lifetime! |
