Well, the weather is now on the up swing here in the great white north, and low-and-behold, I can see bare ground in spots. So I decided to go give it a try. Last week it got up to the fourties, bright sun, and little wind. Perfect! Didn't stay out long, shoot, didn't have many places to dig. I went to the local ski lodge and hunted the snow in front of the lodge. Set the machine as high on max as I could get away with, and started the hunt. Had to go real slow as the targets were deep in the snow. I was amazed at finding coins down about six to eight inches buried in the ice. Had to chip out about seven of them. Kinda neat to see the coin suspended in the ice like that. Moved to dry ground(which wasn't much of that either) and found a few more coins in the soft ground. Everything was clad, but dang, it sure was good to get out after this long winter. Came away with $4.50 in change. Now I'm fired up for sure!
