Default decisions, decisions

I do a little of everything when it comes to metal detecting. Coin, relic, beach. Mostly coin and relic. Im looking at the following detectors. Minelab- explorer 2, X-Terra70, Whites DFX and Garreets GTI 2500. Any sugestions?

Hi Ranger,

I have the X Terra 50 and like everything about it except for the fact of no smaller coils yet. The X Terra 70 is getting fantastic reviews and some experienced detectorists are finding many unique ways of using the different modes. All the detectors you mentioned are proven high end detectors but many feel Minelab hit a home run with the new X Terra 70 and the 50 ain't bad either ,as it's so easy and comfortable to use all day and goes deep and has great target separation even with the bigger coil. Good luck deciding . HH Bill

The EXII once understood will overall go deeper but has some pinpointing issues and is not as user friendly as the DFX. I use both and love my DFX for most of my hunting. Being a detector dealer I get to use everything and I don't think you can find a better value right now with Whites giving you 200 hundred dollars to spend on what you want plus the freebies I throw in. Call me and we can discuss it further. 860-623-1153

Default Good Info

Thanks for the info. It will be a few months before Im ready to make a purchase. This gives me plenty of time to do my homework. No one has commented on the Garrett GTI 2500. It sounded like a good one, but mabye not?

Of the 4 you mentioned it is about third place but costs more than the X70 which in my mind puts a bit behind. If you had already got three choices ahead of it why mention it ?
