Default Explorer II on the way

After doing a LOT of research, I went and ordered a Minelab Explorer Pro II. It should be here this Thursday or Friday.

Since the early 70's I have always been a Whites man, but after talking to Greg and others I am downgrading from my DFX to a inferior one. I intend to spend a lot of time at a site from the early 1800's that I have been doing for a couple years. I believe I have hunted it to death and now I will find out if all the hype about Minlab is true or not.

If anyone has any suggestions or tips about it, I would appreciate and comments either good or bad.

If I am correct the 28 frequencies will unearth more goodies than I can locate with the DFX at this and other hunted out sites.

Default Good Choice

I just upgraded from an XTerra 50 to an ExII. Went over the same ground I'd covered with my 50 and found coins/silver/relics. The ExII is an excellent machine. I read dozens of owners reports, the folks who didn't like it were just wanting quick and simple, didn't read the manual, or started in Advanced Mode instead of QuickFind. The Two Dimensional Discrim is a great feature. In general, this machine is somewhat complicated, but not confusing if you read your manual. And "complicated" just means you have more choices to configure.

Default Congrats!

Way to go! Let us know how it compairs. I have an EXII, but my last detector was so long ago, and that was built from a kit; so I have no real means of comparison. I can tell you that I love my EXII and in the month I've had it have found approaching 400 coins, 6 rings, lots of miscellaneous, etc. I find the detector default settings to be a great starting place and except for some real junky sites have not really adjusted them much yet. Since I have lots of sensitivity room to grow, I'm currious about going back over places I've searched some time in the future to see if I can find more, but where I'm at doesn't lend itself well to that as I'm already often digging down to the underlying volcanic tuff and things just don't migrate deeper than that. Keep us posted as I'm really interested in your results!
