hi...new member here. I use a white's 1 db series 2 detector (got it when i was a kid) and after hundreds and hundreds of hours use, it still works as well as the day i got it. I am interested in upgrading to a more powerful unit but i have to say my piece and then look forward to any replies............
I understand the new detectors out there are very powerful. they go deeper than ever before, are lighter in most cases, and have awesome features such as coin depth displays and such....... but before i get slammed in here, i have to say i dont really care for them......i really like the old series 2 whites machines (5000/6000D, 2DB/4DB, etc) but can only seem to find them on EBAY. It seems other THers like them as well, as EVERY one for sale gets multiple bids |

Hi to you too
You could certianly get something in a newer package that will perform as well or better than most of those other detectors. There are still a lot of great Whites detectors that run at the same 6.59 khz frequency on the market today. Give me a call if you'd like to discuss it further.
