Default flood of 2006

We got hit with some rough weather this week. There saying it's the worst flood in 50 years.I'm in otsego county NY.Missed my house by a few feet.Pictures are of the road at the end of my drivway.Had 2bridges washed out on i-88 that claimed the lives of 2 truckers and a friend of my brothers was killed when he drove into a washed out section of road.4 horses were swept down stream from the fairgrounds A friend helped to save one but the other 3 were swept downstream.I heard this morning that 2 others made it but 1 hit the bridge pretty hard and was lost.I saw areas today that were hit realy hard. Its almost imposible to get anywere as there are bridges that were just swept away, huge ditches were once there were just small streams.Pictures are of the road at the end of my driveway

now ya tell me ! Thanks all ! It's getting better but will be a long time till it's back to normal ! I travel alot with my work and it's unreal how many bridges and roads are out.Had to take the round about way all day.We came down one road that was pretty scary today,There were spots were the road had ditches from 3-15 feet deep and barley enough room to get the trucks through.Guess thats why they put up thouse sighns that said road closed !

Default Glad your safe

Maybe there is a bright side. When all that water recedes they may be doing a lot of sidewalk and road repairs. They start removing sidewalks and roads a lot goodies will be there for the finding

Glad to hear you are OK. I've been praying for the people in that area.

My mom always told me about when the Sesquahana flooded when she was a little girl. They lived next to the river and it flooded the entire first floor of their house.

Swolen rivers can be really nasty.
