I sure hope it wasn't one of those recluses (not sure how to spell it) I have seen a bite on someone's leg and it will start rotting a hole straight through to the other side...Not sure but I guess that is why you need the antibiotics to stop this...Hope you have checked with a doctor!!!

Last summer I was hunting around some tennis courts and I saw a small hole next to the concrete. When I ran my detector over it I noticed some small bugs flying out, not much more than a quarter inch in length. I thought, "What the heck kind of bug is that" and stood there watching for a minute or two. Suddenly one of those "bugs" nailed me on the arm and it felt like my arm was on fire! After I murdered the small assailant I could see that it was a tiny yellow jacket looking wasp, a kind I had never seen before! I hightailed it and my arm burned for nearly 4 hours and a big red welt raised on my arm that hurt for 3 or 4 days! Those little buggers were potent! Right at sundown I went back with a bottle of undiluted insect poison and quickly poured a couple of ounces down the hole and covered it with a rock so they couldn't get out. Next day they were apparently all dead as there was no activity around the hole. I couldn't help but worry about what if some barefoot kid walked over it or sat down on that spot. I talked to a game biologist and he told me it was a new breed of yellow jacket wasp that had just been seen in our area for the past couple of years and that it had been imported from somewhere I forget where now. You can bet I don't go poking a stick into a hole in the ground anymore! Monty

i allready got hit this year. stoped the tractor over the hole. not good. last year the boy and i were cutting out a spot by the pond to fish. he cut into a nest. really not good.
seems like not one or two come at ya they all do. i herd if they swarm ya run thru brush. trees limbs folage anything to nock em off. and deep woods off or deet wont faze em. when i go to a new area for digging i watch the ground for a few minutes. a friend of mine 10-15 years ago dug rite into a nest. bad. put him i the hospital. they are bad voodoo. ![]()
