BH Sharp Shooter II question

My sister just got this detector and she is having alot of trouble learning the darn thing. So I'm posting on her behalf, to see if anyone out there can help answer her questions, she can't figure out why it won't pick up anything...like she will use her old detector to scan a coin and then switch to the BH SSII and she says it will not pick up or it will show that it is junk. SHe has read the manual several times, but still can't figure out this machine. If anyone out there can spare some knowledge she will be very grateful, I'll give out her e-mail address thru a PM

hmmmm i think its preset or auto ground balance so that shouldnt do it. miss johns bh 3300 can get wild sometimes. bad ground can cause alot of problems. how does it work on air test? outside.

I need to find out what excatly is the problem she is having......she may just need to get use to it. Bigjohn I'll find out how it is on airtest.
