Default brass knuckles

does that ? have a hole in the of it? in wwI (1918) they made something like that but had a knife on it for hand to hand combat but the knob on the side was a little bit bigger.

Does look like the handle to a WWI trench knife. LF&C = Landers, Frary, & Clark but I haven't seen any quite this style and without a blade.
