I spray legs, shoes, chest, back, arms, neck and head heavily with a strong solution of Deet. :) Walmart sells a pretty high concentrated spray for a good price. A hat seems to help too. I usually have a pair of needlenose around in case one of the little buggers finds an unprotected spot- for example under my watch :(

Wear light colored clothes. Ticks are drawn to darker colors. Wear a hat for those dropping off of trees. Use a 40% Deet spray solution. Spray on all exposed skin plus on or around openings on clothing, legs, arms, waistband, neck, etc. Don't spray directly on face, rather spray hands and rub on face and neck being careful not to get it in your eyes. If they get on you be sure to remove them within 48 hours. Monty

be carefull if its what i think it is. it works on clothes but ya cant put it on ya skin, use some deep woods off or something with deet in it. (on your skin) that will help with the sceeters also. and the no see ums. down here in va it gets like a jungle. but ifn ya dag in a yellow jackets nest nothing will help ya but fast feet and brush. ya just got to run thru thick brush and get em off ya. REALLY,

If you do get a tick attached to you; soak a cotton ball in either liquid dish soap, or fingernail polish remover, and dob it on the tick for 20-30 sec. and the tick will back out of your skin. No need trying to pull it out.
