Default 3 legged buffalo......on eBay....got it for 2 dollars ppd

...or did I?

It doesn't say in the listing that the coin pictured is the actual coin I will recieve....but hey....2 bucks ain't the end of the world if it's just a regular old 37 buffalo. I didn't think I could afford not to take the chance. Stranger things have happened.

This is the classic 3 legged buffalo nickel pictured in the listing.

Dont count on it ! I think it was last year a 1955 double die lincoln cent was posted on ebay and it was mentioned here. For 30-40 bucks the winning bidder got a normal 1955 penny.

That was 30 or 40 bucks for a penny worth 3 cents....this is 2 dollars ppd.

I'm sure the odds are somewhere between slim and none.....but I won't die if all I get is a 1937 buffalo nickel. Heck...if I never got anything and just lost 2 dollars...it still wouldn't be the end of the world. Like I said.....it's a calculated risk.

The seller sells things other than the few coins he has listed....so who knows. Cross your fingers.

I get the impression from the seller's other goods that this is a young person...and that could mean they just lifted the picture from somewhere without reallizing that it was of a rare coin....or maybe a rich uncle died and left him a few coins.

It was a "buy it now"....I'll let everybody know if I get hosed. Odds are I probably will take a 2 dollar bath...but I couldn't afford not to gamble. It's not like a huge amount of money.....just 8 clad quarters.

You just never know, Pete. I was playing music once and found a mandolin, and morgtaged my house to buy it. It now belongs to Ricky Skaggs....and my profit on the deal was healthy 5 figures.....so I've been in the right place at the right time before.

Still.....I'm not going to start figuring out how much silver I can buy with the proceeds.

Been doing Google image searches....completed listing searches, and can't find where the image was lifted from yet....

Default 3- Legged Buffalo on Ebay

I hope that it is the real thing cause then it should be worth at least several hundred dollars. But again I think of the old saying..... "If it looks too good to be true then it probably isn't..... so buyer beware. Also I was told that there is a lot of fakes of this coin...alterations, etc. But if it is the real thing I would get it professionaly graded and keep it for investment purposes preferably in a safety deposit box!!!!
