I try to get out every day (weather permitting) after dinner for about an hour or two. I still work full time but I live alone so if the dishes do not get done it is no big deal. I can do them after dark which is happening sooner and sooner each day. Does anyone ever hunt after dark? I hope to retire in the next couple of years and then devote more time to this hobby. JoAnne

I am afraid to hunt at night too Boobie. I was just wondering if anyone ever does. If I lived near the ocean where there were people around all the time I might try it but not around here. After dark they roll the streets up. JoAnne

I get after it pretty good.....a couple hours in the evenings, and at least one day on the weekend. I probably put 15 hours a week into it. I'll go at it great guns.....then set the detector in the corner for months. Once I put it in the closet for 13 years...boy was that dumb.

I try to get out as often as possible which usually ends up being once a week with work and a wife and kids. Night hunting is really actually fun. I do it sometimes and the peaceful of it is nice. You don't have to worry about a lot of people asking what you are doing. You just need a good headlamp and insect repellant. I can't say I am scared to do it but I also carry a gun on my side at all times. Maybe that is the difference.

I have gotten out 4 times this week and that is only because the kids went back to school and I played hookie from work . Starting Monday it is back to work for me and no more play time I still want to get out at least once a week, but that all depends on whatever afterschool events are going on and how much homework the kids will have, and of course there is all the housework that will need to be done in the evenings......I'm getting depressed. There is always the occasional weekend that I won't have to work.

Default Not enough

Still working so not enough time to hunt as I would like. I try to get out for a few hours on Saturday or Sunday and then maybe one night a week for a couple of hours. In Montana a lot depends on the weather too. We only have two seasons, hot and cold so you have to work around that also.

I work summers and pidle around winters (up for some extreme mding anyone ) so i get out most weekends and somtimes after work.Night hunting is an excelent time to hunt ! Its cool when its hot, peacful and quiet, best during a full moon. Twice now though i have had close calls with some ornery old bulls on a moonlit night and it can be a bit spooky ! Boobie, dont worry Bill Cosby says the monsters dont come out till 10 pm !
