Yep Yep, go with PAPPY and Dave in Iowa on this one, happy to be outdoors and the real treasure is when you find something and have that connection with the past.
Was out with a friend yesterday who wants to get into the hobby. We were detecting on his property and first hit we got was a carpenter's plane buried a couple inches down.. How'd that get there? I handed him my detector and a few minutes later he dug a square nail... He's hooked.. When I left he was sitting on the porch holding the plane and looking at the other rusty trinkets he found. I could see the gears turning in his head.. Introducing friends to a hobby you enjoy, throw that one in there too. Bob

I am just glad that god gave me another day to enjoy life. I don't care what I find, or if I find anything at all.

I have most of my health and a good family with wonderful grand daughters.
That is just about all the treasure I really need to find.

Of course a few Gold coins and Platinum rings won't hurt either.

In short today is the first day of the rest of my life on this earth.

In this area, I would anticipate that the dime, being at 6 inches...should be silver. That means I dig more slowly and carefully, but if it turns out to be clad......no disappointment here. It all spends the same.

Wow.....I'm very surprised to see that most everyone feels the same as me! I'm new and still learning, however, having some results. Of course, I'm a little disappointed when it's pull tabs but each and every time, especially in the yard, I think, "well, at least my yard is cleaner AND I won't run into THAT piece again!" lol Now that I've learned about 'notching' my MD, it's more productive and not getting as much junk but any coin, for me, is a reason to rejoice!
