Default Buried cache of half dollars in Dunbar Pa?

I was told about this in passing, by a guy whose place I was detecting. It's supposed to be a 3 foot length of pipe stuffed full of silver halves. Has anybody ever heard of this cache?

I Think You Owe It To Yourself To Go Back To The Fellow Who Told You This Story And Get More Details. It Might Turn Out To Be Something Good.

I will do that one day. Supposedly many have searched but nobody has come up with the cache. I'm betting that if it exists at all...the pipe's buried vertically, and capped with a pipe cap. If a person was seeking a silver signal, he might be way off base. If I can get more details I might see if I can get permission to look for them.

If I was going to bury a cache in a length of pipe.....I'd use a larger pipe to sink a hole into which the pipe could be dropped. The hole might even be "cased", meaning a larger diameter pipe was left in place so that it could be gotten to and added to or taken from...with relative ease.

Dunbar is just outside of Connellsville! That's just a few miles down the road from me. Good luck in your investigation. If you ever want someone to help search, just let me know.

I go through that area on my way to Elizabeth Lumber Co. I'll let you know if I get some more specific information....like who might "really" know about it.
