Default treasures from the cash register

just curious to hear stories of cash register finds....

over the last 5 years, I've gotten these in change....

(8) 64-69 halves
(10) washington silver quarters
(3) silver roosevelt dimes
(1) silver canadian dime
(1) silver nickel

the halves I got at work, in the cafeteria. the cash register is right next to the tray slide, so I had a good view, and I have a good eye for the silver :) my change was greater than 50 cents, so I asked for the 50 cent piece. when I verified what it was, I then asked for the rest of them.

the quarters came from a gas station. this time I couldn't see the register, but the minute the change was plopped into my hand, I saw 2 silvers, so I asked for a few more dollars worth of quarters and got the rest....

the others were just in normal "change"...

Although it isn't as much fun.
true, but there is a bit of an adrenaline rush for the "I know something they don't, and I'm gonna get them all!" for the multi-coin grabs...

I have had some pretty good luck with finding silver in registers.Last year I went to a gas station and while I was paying I could see in the register. There were quite a few half dollars. I could see that some of them were silver. So i asked the guy If I could buy them.He said sure except for one because its an antique. He showed me a walking liberty. That was fine for me because all the rest was antique too.He just didnt know it.I got 8 silver halves.I have also found a few coins at other places, but the most memorable was a barber dime.
