It's gonna be a long winter
so can anyone recommend any good books on MD or TH that they have read? I am looking for informative books but ones that are not too dry. Thanks for any suggestions. JoAnne

Yes, I agree Pappy - but for the days the roads are too bad and the ice and snow is too high would love a good book about detecting to either purchase or borrow from the library.

No Long Winters In South Texas
We have a lot of winter Texans who come in from the north. We have very mild winters compared to the rest of the country. No Snow bound days at all! The worst that it gets is a lot of wet weather but this doen't deter the diehard Th'ers. This areas covers the Gulf Coastal region plus the Rio Grande Valley including South Padre Island. The Rio Grande Valley has many 80 degree days since it is only about 20 minutes away from Mexico! Maybe you need to come visit and become a Winter Texan .................

Funny you should mention that....I am looking for a place to retire to. However I was thinking southern east coast. Might have to take a trip to your area to check it out. The one problem with Texas is the snakes. I hate them and am scared to death of them.

Texas And Snakes
Snakes are only a problem in the woods. I have never encountered a snake on the beach, school yards or city and county parks. I have a few good snake stories but do not want to scare you so I might post these elsewhere! Good Luck and Good Hunting.......
