I don't know about the legalities in Pa., but I have never had any trouble so far.
Just keeping my fingers crossed.

Don't know about the legalities either but I have thought about checking them out. In Montana they close most of them after tourist season so I always thought it might be a good place to try. Anybody have much luck hunting a rest area?

A friend of mine in the past 2 years has mined just about every rest stop along I 80 within Illinois. He says it's a coin cash cow (try saying that 3 times in a row fast.) You see the pick up truck with a rifle rack in the back window, well he's got the rifle rack but instead of a rifle he's got his DFX back there. Never goes anywhere without it.

I've wondered the same thing Stephan. I would say that it is public property, but you should check with the state before doing any digging.

Thanks for all the responses. I do drive the interstates a couple times per year. With 2 young children in the back seat, we do hit those rest stops quite often. Will be on the road again for Christmas. Will try my luck!

Default Minnesota

In Minnesota DON'T even if the custodian says you can. You can get into some real trouble.
