Default X-1 probe for the ExplorerII

If anyone uses the X-1 probe on their ExplorerII would really appreciate any comments, either good or not so good.

Default Good!

Hello boobie....I have used the X-1 Probe on my Explorer II for a year or so, and now on my SE. For my money, it is absolutely the best probe on the market, BAR NONE!

The X-1 has helped me countless times find the elusive on edge coin, and even the mysterious, ghost signal after the dirt has been removed from the hole.

Since I started using the X-1, I have yet to damage a find, whereas before, I damaged a few. One was a very valuable Sutler Token from VL Todd, and I almost cried all the way home!

That very day, I installed the X-1 on my EXP II, and damaged targets are now a thing of history for me.

The only negative, if there is one, is that you must remember to switch the probe back to the Explorer before you continue hunting. After a few times of making that mistake, it becomes automatic.

Hope this helped a bit.

Question

1 Will the same X-1 work on the ExplorerII & Minelab SE?

2 Is it possible (or wise) to put in my personal programs in the machine using the probe instead of using a coil?
3 I put my programs in the ExpII using the 5 inch coil. What would be the advantages or disadvantages of putting in my programs using the probe instead of a coil? Would the fingerprint be smaller or any better?
4 How much depth should I expect using the probe in the field? I have heard the it is 1 inch on a dime and a bit more on a quarter (using the air test).

I have heard I could expect to get up to 4 inches in the ground. Would you please give me your opinions on this matter?

Default I'll try.....

......to answer as best i can.

Question #1 - Yes
Question #2 - Not wise
Question #3 - Don't do it.....no advantage that I can see.
Question #4 - The X-1 is intended as a probe only, not an all day search coil. Depth, usually 1" to 3" in the ground, with a very-very small foot print!

The X-1 is excellent at what it was designed for....locate the target in the hole, after pinpointing with your normal coil, and breaking ground. Use it to keep from damaging targets with continued digging.

Thank you very much for your reply to my questions.

As for the #4 question.
I meant using it as a probe for depth response and not for an all day coil.

Good luck to all
