I had the honor of working with these two men on many occasions in the past. They were both down to earth people as were many others on the show.
Wish we had morals and lifestyles as these portrayed in past day's.
I only live about 20 miles from the original Mayberry ( Mt. Airy, N.C.) as Andy called Mt. Pilot ( Pilot Mountain). We go to Mt. Airy every chance we get for Mayberry Day. The road that I presently live on is called Mayberry Farms Road.
I'm afraid those times are gone for good. THANK GOODNESS WE HAD THOSE TIMES.
Andy is presently living in Wrightsville Beach North Carolina and I'm glad to say he is still active in the motion picture business.

P.S. Knotts was known as an "INSTANT ACTOR" as he did NOT use a script 95% of the time on the shows. Andy once said that Knotts was the very best comedian that he had ever met.
