Rings???
I have an off the wall question for everyone, hopefully someone can assist me...
I was hunting the "Farm" (Civil War camp site here in NC) again this week-end and I found a gold wedding band. A very nice, old looking band... Anyway here is my question: When did they start stamping the purity of the gold content (10k, 14k ect) on jewerly? This ring looks old, but it is stamped 10k. Not sure if its Civil War era or not.... Still a pretty neat find on a Civil War campsite. I also found 7 more bullets, 1 complete Eagle button, 1 button back, and 4 bullet fragmets. Overall a pretty good day!! HH Gary
