this is going to vary.
a tesoro/vaquer // i keep in the truck 24/7 its a great relic md an coin md.and its lite. so its my scout md./(spot check) if i'm drivin down the road and see a place they just broke ground i"ll check it out with the tesoro. if i find relics or coins and the area that tells me to come back an hunt with. if any deep relics/cw/ i'll come back with the nautilus cause its deep. i wont use it in a school yard. if a good coin site i'll use the minelab. ive used the minelab w/8"coil for trashy relic hunting. so it comes down to 3 i can depend on. for what i do. and its working out great. so what do you guys an gals use and for what.

I too am a Virginia relic hunter and use a Whites MXT when I am pursuing that “New Camp”, once I have hunted it and feel it is hunted out I will pull out the Nautilus IIBa and go for the deep stuff.
I like the fact that you use a Tesoro Vaquero, they are in my mind a good machine, and I have found many good relics with mine.

.....how did the new site work out? How's the Nautilus working for you? You and Ed ought to get together sometime. I hunted with him at the GNRS and was totally impressed with his professionalism.
Ed, I've known John for a while now, and feel the same way about thim. Would like to see the two of you team up on some of those deep CW goodies! Here are a couple of my recent hits with the Nautilus! |

Hi Tony,
If your hunting trashy areas the best thing to cut down on a lot of empty holes aside from learning your detector is to only dig the similar repeatable target responses from different sweep angles and get a smaller accessory coil like the 5.3 Bullseye or even the 4x6" shooter. If your hunting open areas with moderate trash the 950 coil is ok if you understand your detector but the smaller coils will make it much easier to isolate some targets. The XLT is not the best detector for hunting the trashiest of sites but it will treat you well. Another thing to remember ,if your getting a lot of iron spread on the signa graph try lowering your sensitivity and for now only dig the repeatable target responses that pinpoint in the exact location at different sweep angles. Good luck HH Bill |

......sorry to hear you guys in VA are getting so-o-o-o much rain! Darn you have been through one heck of a wet spell!
Let me know how things come out there, when the "40 days and 40 nights" are finally over, and the "ark finally settles on dry land." Last edited by Chuck@TreasureHut; 11-27-2006 at 07:50 AM. Reason: spelling |

Not too many Nautilus's seen down here in Southeast Texas. I like them though. In the past I have owned the DMC2 and LF and MF. Currently all I own is the MF which is probably one of the 1st relic machines produced by Mr. Tyndall. In the future, I may get another DMC2 or a DMC1. I'm an old timer treasure hunter and like the older machines. Do yall have any experiences with these older machines? I have tried some of the newer ones but it is hard to go away from the the tried and true stuff that I am accustomed to. For the Relic sites, I like the Nautilus and Garrett Deepseeker. For the Beach I like The Garrett Seahunter P.I. and the Daytona Rangar. For parks and School yards I like the Bounty Hunter Big Bud and the A.H. Pro-2. Good Luck.......
