Thumbs up A great 500+ mile trip

As some people might know about the C.W. belt buckle I found many years ago. I would like to bring folks up to date. I showed it to Gregory and Pappy has seen the pictures on my website. Both of these great gentlemen felt that it was genuine, but could not say FOR SURE.

It was suggested that I ask
Harry Ridgeway (http://www.relicman.com/).

After a couple emails and phone conversations with him it was decided that I should make the trip to Winchester Va. to let him see it in person. So HarryPA and I left this morning @ 4AM. It was a little over 500 miles round trip to his location.

After examining it he stated
"THIS IS A GENUINE PHG BELT BUCKLE."

We spent over 3 hours with him and learned so much. The man even has a real museum filled with authentic C.W. relics.
He showed us the collection of his many artifacts he has collected over many years.
It is in my opinion almost beyond belief.
If you can name it he has it somewhere in his vast gathering of C.W. materials. To top it of he is very very easy to talk to and most willing to share his knowledge with others.
It was one of the nicest days I have had concerning this hobby.
I would like to thank Gregory for his thoughts and concerns on the buckle and Pappy for suggesting that I meet with Mr. Ridgeway. I would also like to thank all those who sent me emails wishing me the best in my endeavor to find out if it was a fake or not.

YAHOOOOO !! Congratulations on finding out the buckle is real. This is some pretty neat stuff and a great story to follow. So what about the Smithsonian? Is that still an option.
PS If you need a second opinion you can just send the buckle to me and I will take a look at it

Truthfully I don't know what to do with it now. After all I have had it for near 20 years.
I gave my word to the Smithsonian that I would await their next correspondence before I did anything. I hope to get something from this week.
