Default Question About Tide?

I guess detecting is a bit contrary to fishing from the shore. In fishing it is good for the tide to be high but for detecting I have heard that it is better for the tide to be low. I guess the high tide brings stuff in so when it gets low some stuff remains on the land. Is that the reason or is there another reason why?

Default Tides

FISHING AT HIGH TIDE AND THE FALLING TIDE...DETECTING AT LOW TIDE !

The water rises and brings in the goodies and deposits them on the beach..ESPECIALLY AFTER A STORM with a good Tide Surge...PAPPY

Default Low Tide Detecting???

The reason for hunting during low tide especially if you have a land detector is that you have 50 feet or more of exposed beach! Also if the 1st trough is exposed you will find many goodies that have become trapped in this section of the beach. Also if you are using a land detector remember to wrap it up in plastic, salt water spray is not good to get on your detector! GOOD LUCK......

Default Tide

Keep in mind too that the tide changes 4 times a day (Every 6 hours) and that usually the day's during a full moon are the best to hunt due to the fact it is a lunar tide and the water rises much further up on the beach.
During low tide...Always remember to check right at the tide roll where the water is pulling the sand...GREAT place for rigns and such. Also remember to check your water hole deposits that the high tide has left up on the beach and any water trough that runs from the beach back to the ocean...PAPPY
