Default Here's a little tip for what it is worth

My eyes aren't the best so I have a hard time seeing the screen on my machines with the rain & dust cover on.

They just aren't clear enough for me. I was given this advice from a fellow detector with the same problem. Here is what you can do.
Use the 3" or so wide clear packaging tape and put it right on the viewing screen to cover the viewing surface.

I put on 2 layers, and also over any place the rain or moisture could get into the electronics. Except for where there might be ventilation holes or slots.

This protects the screen from future scratches and the damage that a sudden rainfall or stray overhanging tree limb can do.

If it gets torn just take it off and clean any residue with rubbing alcohol and put on new clear tape.
I have it on all my machines and when they get muddy and crappy I just squirt it off and it is clean & unscratched again because it is mow waterproofed.

Now I don't have to worry about running to get out of the rain & putting the electronics under my coat to prevent damage.

Besides that it is a lot cheaper than getting a new screen and easy to do.
This may sound silly but it does work for me.
I hope this may help someone in some small way.
