Done for the Season???

TQ Family,

Just a quick note about your MD over the winter. If you think you are done for the season, you should probably pull your batteries out if you're not going to use it for a while. I'm sure we've all had it where a radio or kids toy had batteries in it and it was not used for many months, then opened up the battery compartment only to realize the battery leaked. No, it shouldn't happen, but still does sometimes, so better safe than sorry. I had alreay pulled mine out a couple weeks ago, but it was warm the other night, so I was FORCED to have to go out and dig around in the backyard. So the batteries went back in and are about to come back out as I don't think I will get to play again till spring. Just a reminder. Good luck all and happy hunting.

If I know it's going to be several weeks before going out, I try to remember to pull 'em. But so far this winter I've gotten out several times a week; the ground isn't even totally frozen yet, and now we've got 3 days in the 40's coming with rain so that should thaw things even more.
