Question how far do you walk?

I am getting one of those things you hook on your leg to see how far I walk when hunting.
I have no idea how much I do walk. Has anyone used one of them? Or have any idea how far you walk in a days detecting?
At the end of some days I feel like I just walked 100 feet. Then on some days I feel like I walked 100 miles.

Danback and i were just talking about how funny it would be if we could video a hunt then play it on fast forward.Bet it would look like bees on a honeycomb ! I'll bet we walked 25 miles on that 50' square area !

I literally had to get a physical therapy session for overdoing a day of metal detecting a few weeks ago. Man, was I sore!!! I work in a machine shop where I am picking up metal parts throughout a 12 hour shift, some weighing in the major pounds.... not bad when I am not sore, but that entire week after MDing the park, I had to suck up the pain as best as possible! Just the idea of getting in and out of my car was a self-inflicted punishment in itself!!! So, I told myself I was going to stretch my legs really well before any more metal detecting! LOL!
