Default trying to get permission

To detect my Catholic School I used to work at. This school opened in 1926. I e-mailed the principal and asked if I could metal detect the property on a day that school is out and told her that if i recovered jewlery that i would give it back and that i would remove trash and sharp objects. I should be able to find interesting stuff I hope. WISH ME LUCK. aLSO I NEED SOME ADVICE ON WHERE TO FIND STUFF AND WHAT DO YOU THINK I WILL FIND? THANKS.

Default Don't Take A Knife!

Only use a screwdriver and or a small garden trowel especialy in School Yards. Bypass any large and or wide signals and only go for coin-size objects. This is because you do not want to disturb the soil unless absolutely necessary! The school front yards are always good and find the baseball field or soccer fields they are good too! Find the Swing and Merry-Go-Round Areas, if the area is that old, any area may be good. Set your detector to find coins-only...do not dig pull-tabs...hopefully you have a notch set-up and can find the nickels too.... this will help you to find some of the gold rings!!! GOOD LUCK JOE

Default School Yards

Just be extremely neat like you would do at home. I have several friends that have hunted churches and have found many church related items.

Turn some in and keep some, it is your choice. Be neat and you will be asked to return.

Be sloppy and you may get a local reputation of being a sloppy hunter among the congregation.

Be neat and several in the congregation may ask you to do their property.

Attend their Ladies or Mens Club and give a demo with display boxes of finds and see what it gets you. You may be surprized.
