Default Good weather, Bad weather

It has been an abnormal winter so far here in Michigan. I have been trying to get out during this “warm” (mid 40’s) part of January, but since I work during the day, it is hard to get out after work because it is already getting dark. The only time that I really have to get out to the local parks are on weekends. The trouble is that the weather seems to be good during the week, but as soon as the weekend gets here, it all changes!! Isn’t that the way it always works?

Anyway, I am still going to try and get out this weekend, Saturday looks to be the worst of the 2 days. I think Sunday will be the day to try again.

Being somewhat new to this hobby, I really want to get out there and learn my machine and, of course, find some coins, relics, and whatever else I can find.
My motto is “patience, patience, patience”.

You need to get rid of some of those "patients" if you plan to have any free time. And have a little "patience" will ya....LOL

I have the same problem with the weather and free time when it is still light out, so you're not alone. Plus I just got the Metal Detector, so I am itching to get out and use it.

Hey Chuck,

Thanks for the heads-up on the spelling!!! Never been real good at that anyway.

Got to love that "spell checker", guess I need to use it more often.

Hey Chuck,

Taking a joke is a big part of having fun!!! If you can't laugh at yourself, man, are you are in for a rough time.
I love a good natured "ribbing", even if it about myself. I certainly don't mind at all.

Default To Krestrel0222: Be Prepared For Bad Weather

If you are like me, you need to be prepared for bad weather. I really only have 1 day a week to go detecting whether it is good or bad weather. I went to the beach yesterday and besides being very foggy it was raining off and on! I always carry a see thru grocery-produce type bag to protect the detector's control box from the weather and I tape it shut around the box. For myself I used a heavy rainproof coat, rubber boots and have a poncho, hat and gloves if that is necessary. Of course, I don't detect during a downpour, sometimes I have to run for cover! JOE
