Default Just made my novice mistake

Since I got my first detector I am anxious to hasten my learning curve. Rained all morning and when it quit this afternoon I drove to the city park. I found the usual trash but in the kid's sandbox I found a very cheap gold child's ring. It did look good in the sand. Lost it before I got back to the house. Next time I will carry an old fanny pack with a zipper. Had fun!

I think is is just part of the "learning curve". Unfortunately, this happens in any hobby when you first start out.
I bet it will not happen the next time .

Default Had it all planned out

I knew that my wife was going to ask about my hunt. I had it planned out. I was going to be very cool and say " Just some old nails, pulltabs and a GOLD RING". Serves me right in being so cocky. Thank for the sympathy and causing me to laugh at myself

Default it happens

my child lost a child's gold ring at the park. My suggestion is to go back and try to find it at the park again. I tried to find the gold ring again but my kids and I had hit so many areas in different places that it was almost impossible but if you were in only 1 or 2 areas it should not be too hard to find.

AS I always told me kids... If you learned something it really wasn't a mistake, just an experience.. Bob
