Lejeuene - You and I are neighbors... I live in the New Iberia area. How long have you been active into metal detecting? Do you know of any good hunting sites you may be willing to share? I metal detect mostly parks currently. Take care.

Yes, we are very close neighbors. I have been MD'ing for a little over a year on a consistant basis...about 5 years off & on. I hit alot of parks also. I am trying to get permission to MD old homes sites now.

As for sharing sites....I really don't have anything specific. If I did I would certainly share it with you. I am looking into ghost towns...old homes....civil war battle areas....found a musket ball a few weeks back.

I am still trying to learn this DFX. There is alot to it other than the factory settings. I'l learn it though...in time....ha!

Do you know if there are any MDing clubs in our area? I have searched the internet and have found absolutely nothing in our local area. I have, however, come across one club. The only reason I would not join is that they meet once a month in Slidell - a little too far of a drive than I would like to take. Still in all, they go out in groups at times to old plantations and find many interesting relics. Their website is http://www.shrra.com/ just in case you are interested. Good luck with your DFX... I hear it is a great machine. I currently am using a Garrett Ace 250, and will be purchasing a Minelab Explorer SE sometime in the upcoming weeks. Take care, and Happy Hunting!
