On the first night my wife and I ever went out into the back yard to turn on our new metal detector (at the time) we knew something was up with the grubs! I didn't understand it at the time, and even to this day when I get signals and start digging - I come across those grubs. I kinda narrowed it down to the soil condition. I personally believe that metal will "condition" the soil in such a way that grubs find nutrition, or something else beneficial to them. Thanks for the post, Pappy.
