Default Grub Worms

PAPPY made a post a good while back concerning diggin up GRUB WORMS and finding coins.

I have been detecting well over 50 years and it NEVER FAILS !

I have observed over the years that if you receive a signal and start to dig and come across a grub worm...THERE IS SOMETHING THERE...SO KEEP DIGGING !

I Don't know why this is true, evidently the worms are attracted to the metal or it makes a good place to hide ????? BUT SOMETHING makes them go to the coins or whatever the item may be...SO DON'T GROSS OUT...KEEP DIGGING

I would like for all to keep this in mind and if you find something good in the future after finding a grub....POST IT and LET US KNOW.

You know Pappy - I did not know this a while back and started to dig a target and found a gub and stopped. (Its a girlie thing) Shortly after that day you posted about the grub worms. Sure wish I had know that at the time.

Oh yea Pappy; those grubs make dog gone good catfish bait. So save those little critters when you find them. If you catch a 6lb. channel cat with that grub, it could be better than your find. Or better yet, you could find a nice coin, and your supper in the same hole. Now that would be a good day MDing.

Yea Indy, they are white, about 1" long, and about as big around as the end of your little finger (if your fingers arn't too big) A little bit bigger than a pencil. They look like a piece of large macaroin after it's been cooked.

INDY, Kinda whiteish with brown heads...They don't bite so don't worry about them. Just like norris said...they will kind of curl up when you uncover them.Just move them out of the way with your trowel and find the coin.

Alrighty then, I have dug those up before , they don't bother me, I'm not squimish with that sort of thing...usually I toss the worms and grubs out of my way. But I can't remember if there was anything in the hole with them...but I'll pay closer attention from now on. Thanks for the tip.
