We are only supposed to get 2 inches of snow today, with a high temp., of around 20 degrees. Where do you want to go detecting? Oh geezy peezy I just remembered I have a roaring fireplace to sit in front of and watch the Discovery channel. Lets just wait for better days. |

Yesterday the sun was out and got up to a balmy 27 big ones here in Billings, starting to see some bare ground. So I put the batteries back in the detector, hit a local park, got a couple of signals and tried to dig. Took along my digging tool, a large screwdriver and tried Boobies trick of the welders chipping hammer. The pointed end of the hammer just makes little dents in the dirt. I can hit the end of the screwdriver if I hit it with the side of the hammer and you can get little chunks to fly out of the hole ever now and then and land somewhere around 100' away from where you are digging. Digging tool is just extra weight to carry. After a few minutes of this I said to myself, self you have cold beer in the fridge and a warm house. Guess where I ended up?
